Trader Joe’s Grand Opening
Trader Joe’s opened Friday, October 25, 2019 to a line of customers down the block cheering at their excitement for a long-awaited grocery store to open in the Fort Point/Seaport neighborhood. Residents, workers and visitors to the area have been anticipating the opening since rumors first started that there was a full-service grocer coming to the neighborhood, something that has never existed in Seaport previously.
45 minutes prior to the Grand Opening, shoppers queued up. Staffers greeted customers with smiles and snacks. To celebrate the 500th Trader Joe’s opening in Boston style customers were entertained by a colonial era Minuteman band. After an enthusiastic welcome from the Store Captain, the first two customers in line were asked to hold the ribbon for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
And with that, the store is open for business daily 9am-9pm.
